Dear Erikson Faculty and Staff,
I am delighted to announce that the Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (JEDI) intranet page is now up on the employee intranet.
I look forward to working with all of you, and our student community on JEDI initiatives.
The work of this new office will build upon the strides Erikson has made over the past few years, particularly the work of the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Belonging and Justice (DEIBJ) Council.
The DEIBJ Council has been reconfigured to align with the JEDI office, and a revised charter for a JEDI Council will be presented to the Erikson community for review and feedback in November. Once approved by Erikson’s Executive Team, a nomination process will be announced for faculty, staff and student members. The first JEDI Council meeting is planned for January of 2024. Please stay tuned for future updates!
Meanwhile, I am seeking your ideas for new “Erikson Community” groups, which is replacing the term, “Employee Resource Groups” and will provide a broader range of supports. We have three groups already: “Queer and Fabulous”, “Black@Erikson (BAE)”, and “Sisterhood Circle: Erikson Support Group for Black Women” (formerly “Traditionally marginalized Race ERG”). These communities are not solely affinity groups, but ways Erikson can gather with multitudes of shared interests and strengthen who we are and can become.
Please share your ideas for additional groups via this form. I look forward to hearing from you!
In partnership,
Ayanna F. Brown, Ph.D.
Associate Vice President for JEDI
